Catholic Bishop resigns after affair with married parishioner (Photos)

A Romantic Catholic bishop resigned after a love affair with a married parishioner(both above).
63 year old Kieran Conry, the Bishop of Arundel and Brighton, resigned last week after the estranged husband of one of the women with whom he was said to have had a relationship threatened to sue the church.
The man had hired a private detective to follow his wife.
The disgraced priest told Sunday Times

I’ve never regretted being a priest. I’ve never felt unhappy, I’ve enjoyed it and tried to do whatever was asked of me.’I’ve always gone where I’ve been sent and I hope to do the same again.’When a priest makes a promise of celibacy, he promises to remain unmarried, that’s all. Then the ordinary rules of morality apply.
‘But I’d like to make it clear I’m not calling for a change. I did wrong. Celibacy may be a tradition rather than an article of faith but the vast majority of priests are faithful to their promise, faithful to what the church expects of them. And I have great respect and admiration for that.’
A second love affair six years ago also came to light and yesterday there were claims of a third woman in his life.  Mr Hodgkinson realised his wife was being unfaithful when she failed to turn up for choir practice at their local church.
The City executive said: ‘I thought it was odd when she didn’t arrive at choir practice because normally she would never miss one. I went to her house to drop some music through her letterbox but she wasn’t at home.
‘By then it was about 10pm and I thought it was really weird. I decided it was time to test my suspicion that she was having an affair.
‘I went up to the bishop’s residence and her car was there. I checked and it was there all night. I was devastated.
‘I thought the bishop was someone who was honest and liberal. He is a man who has trained marriage counsellors – and is someone I had seriously thought of turning to for advice in relation to my own marriage.
‘Now, because he was such a powerful public figure, I could not go to anyone in the Church. I wanted to protect my family, I wanted to protect the children but I did not know what to do.’

Scientists Prove That There Is Life After Death

The existence of life after death is a universal question. However, recent research provided prooves that consciousness may continue even after death.
life-after-death-scientists-proved
Scientists conducted a four-year study of more than 2,000 patients who had suffered cardiac arrests. The research spanned cases at 15 hospitals in the UK, U.S. and Austria. The findings revealed nearly 40 per cent of those who survived described some kind of ‘awareness’ during the time when they were clinically dead before their hearts were restarted.
The scientists even told the story of a man who was ‘dead’ for three minutes yet managed to recount detailed actions of the nursing staff and the sound of the machines. The man recalled leaving his body entirely, watching his resuscitation from the corner of the room.
A total of 2,060 cardiac arrest patients were studied – 330 of them survived and 140 said that had been partly aware at the time of resuscitating.
39% of patients who survived cardiac arrest and were able to undergo interviews described a perception of awareness, but did not have any explicit memory of events.
46 % experienced a wide range of mental recollections, they included feelings of fear and persecution.
9 % had experiences commonly linked to a near death experiences.
2 % showed full awareness or out of body experiences, they explicitly recalled ‘seeing’ and ‘hearing’ events after their hearts had stopped.
In many of the cases, several similar trends emerged. One in five described a feeling of peacefulness in the moment after death. A third said time had either moved more quickly or slowed down. An out-of-body experience was felt by 13 per cent of those asked.
The bright light or golden flash image often used in Hollywood films was also described by some patients. Others experienced a more unpleasant sensation of fears of drowning or being dragged through deep water.
Dr Sam Parnia who led the study, said: ‘The evidence thus far suggests that in the first few minutes after death, consciousness is not annihilated. Whether it fades away afterwards, we do not know, but right after death, consciousness is not lost. We know the brain can’t function when the heart has stopped beating.
But in this case conscious awareness appears to have continued for up to three minutes into the period when the heart wasn’t beating, even though the brain typically shuts down within 20-30 seconds after the heart has stopped. Clearly, the recalled experience surrounding death now merits further genuine investigation without prejudice.”
