The Oyo monarch who was an Insurance clerk and boxer before he became Alaafin of Oyo, travelled to the UK last week as one of his ways of celebrating his birthday. He was spotted was spotted at Westfield Mall in London this week with all his wives and they caused quite a stir in the mall.
Nigerians who knew who he was, paid homage and accorded him their respects while some Whites saw it as an avenue to take his autograph, plus snap a couple of pictures with Royalty.
Lamidi Adeyemi succeeded Alaafin Gbadegesin Ladigbolu II in 1970, during the governorship of Colonel Robert Adeyinka Adebayo, after the end of the Nigerian Civil War.
